Player Tribute

"Shoeless Joe" Jackson, Ty Cobb, and Nap Lajoie

This trio of hitters (Joe Jackson, Ty Cobb, and Napoleon Lajoie) all hit better than .400 in a single season at least once in their careers. Cobb and Lajoie are both in the 3,000-hit club. Jackson, with the third highest average in history at .356, should be in the Hall of Fame along with Cobb and Lajoie but isn't. Neither is Pete Rose. Along with Jackson and Rose, there are 11 other players who should be in the Hall of Fame but aren't. See Baseball Todd's complete list of those who should be in the Hall right now by clicking on the photo above.
