Babe Ruth's 60th Homer In 1927

The immortal BABE RUTH is shown hitting his historic 60th home run of the 1927 season off lefty Tom Zachary of the Washington Senators on Sept. 30. Ruth held this major league record until 1961 when Roger Maris slammed 61 homers for the Yankees. Of course, Maris' record was broken in 1998 by both Mark McGwire (70) of the St. Louis Cardinals and Sammy Sosa (66) of the Chicago Cubs.
